Does Wildtype salmon contain contaminants found in traditional seafood?

In our Fishery, we have an unprecedented level of control over our salmon. In fish farms, diseases and parasites like sea lice can spread easily. Antibiotic use is also common. In rivers and oceans, wild salmon accumulate mercury and other heavy metals due to industrial pollution.

Our Fishery is the opposite - a tightly controlled environment. That means we can keep many things we love about conventional seafood, while reducing exposure to things we don’t, like mercury, parasites, antibiotics, and microplastics.

During our pre-market consultation with FDA, we provided multiple samples of our cell-cultivated salmon comparing Wildtype salmon with conventional salmon across a range of food safety parameters (like Listeria and heavy metals). The full pre-market consultation package is available on FDA’s website, but we include an extract (on pages 8-9 of this link) for ease of reference. Note, all of the analytical testing we provided to FDA was performed by independent laboratories.
