Is Wildtype salmon nutritionally equivalent to conventional salmon?
We are working hard to improve the nutritional profile of our cell-cultivated salmon. Wildtype salmon saku offers a similar omega-3 and caloric profile to wild Coho salmon, with 4-5 grams of protein per 100 gram serving.
Achieving nutritional comparability, particularly when it comes to protein, healthy fats, and micronutrients is a key product development goal for our crew. In fact, we’re getting close to these goals in new offerings that will follow our salmon saku, and we’re excited to share more about these products in the future.
